Thomas Farms Ground Beef

Thomas Farms Ground Beef

  • 1 pound Thomas Farms Ground Beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tablespoon minced, grated or pureed ginger
  • 2 tablespoons coconut aminos or soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon oyster or fish sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 4 slices of red onion
  • 4-8 pineapple rings
  • Buns
  • Lettuce
  • Sesame seeds for serving

Teriyaki Sauce

  • ¼ cup coconut aminos or low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Mix the ground beef with the garlic, ginger, coconut aminos, oyster/fish sauce, breadcrumbs and spices. Form into 4 burger patties.
  2. Heat a grill to medium-high heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  3. While the burgers are cooking, make the teriyaki sauce. Add all of the ingredients to a small saucepan.
  4. Turn the heat to high and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low to allow it to simmer. Simmer until the sauce has thickened into a glaze, about 5 minutes. Turn off the heat.
  5. Spread the teriyaki sauce on both sides of the sliced pineapple using a pastry brush. Add the pineapple to the grill with sliced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until the pineapple is caramelized.
  6. Assemble the burger: place lettuce on the bottom bun followed by the sliced red onion. Add the burger patty, 1-2 pineapple slices, a drizzle of teriyaki sauce and some sesame seeds. Top the burger with the top bun.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
