Filling

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound Thomas Farms ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Topping

  • 1 cup romaine lettuce, cut into thin strips
  • 1 roma tomato, diced
  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Sauce

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickle relish

4 Bao buns

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet to medium-high heat and add in the oil. Add ground beef and brown while crumbling for about 4 minutes. Once slightly browned, add in the spices and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Mix in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  2. Meanwhile, steam the bao buns according to the package directions. Use either a bamboo steamer or a steamer basket.
  3. Combine all of the ingredients for the sauce in a bowl and set aside.
  4. Fill the buns with ¼ cup of the ground beef mix. Top with shredded lettuce, tomato, more cheddar cheese and sauce.
  5. Serve and enjoy!
